Media kit 2020 - Loire Valley region 'Goût de France' 2020

The Loire Valley region (Centre-Val de Loire) is pursuing its cultural seasons. Following the 500th anniversary of the Renaissance, the Nouvelles Renaissances [New Renaissances] begins its three-year cycle. 2020 will be devoted to the gastronomy, produce and cuisine that shape the culinary identity of this region. The region owes its history to the kings of France that made the Loire Valley their home during the Renaissance age and founded the French ‘art de vivre’.

2020 will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the ‘Gastronomic Meal of the French’ being listed as UNESCO heritage. Application for the UNESCO listing was initiated by the European Institute for History, Culture and Food of Tours (IEHCA). It was therefore only natural that the region should have accepted to represent French gastronomy throughout the 5 continents during this anniversary year and will be taking part in the Goût de France/Good France event. A host of reasons to (re)discover and savour all the charm of the region with its chefs, producers and wine-growers, not to mention its landscapes, the châteaux of the Loire Valley, its gardens and much more.
